mac 'search in google' uses safari and not default browser

When you right click text in Mail, Address Book or iCal (and almost all other mac applications), and select 'Search in Google', it will open Google in Safari and not in your default browser.

Now I understand that Safari is "advertising" a service, which causes the context menu to enable the 'search in google' option. So, safari should technically be used for the search, however this is a user experience nightmare.

There are hundreds of forum threads on people expecting the link to be opened in their default browser. This is just one way apple wants to shove safari down user's throats.
